CYNTHIA HOFFMANN is a member of the Voice Faculties of The Juilliard School of Music, where she served as Vocal Chair from 1995-2006, the Manhattan School of Music, where she also teaches a class in Vocal Performance, and The Curtis Institute of Music, where she is a Voice Faculty Adjunct. She also serves as Vocal Coach and member of the Artistic Board of the Franz Schubert Institute in Baden bei Wien, Austria. She has taught for the Lindemann Young Artist program at the Metropolitan Opera, and was the director of the Judith Raskin Opera program at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.
She has given Master Classes throughout the United States and abroad and her students have been winners of The Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition Awards, the George London, Richard Tucker and MacAllister Awards, the Gerda Lissner and Opera Index Awards, the Operalia Competition, and the prestigious Beverly Sills Award from the Metropolitan Opera. Ms. Hoffmann has recorded on the Vanguard label, has appeared on NBC television and also on radio. Her written contributions appear in two publications: “Spectrum of Voices” and “Broadening the Circle”. She received an honorary Doctorate from the University of Redlands in 2002.
