Baritone James Koenig has performed in opera, concert and recital venues throughout Europe and the United States, including Arizona Opera, Michigan Opera Theater and Baton Rouge Opera. He has taught at Northwestern University and maintains a private voice studio, as well as continuing to do recitals and performance master classes as artist/teacher at various colleges and universities. After a long association with the Finnish community and with the work of Finnish composers, Mr. Koenig was knighted by the Finnish government as a Suomenleonanrittari. In addition to musical activities he is a writer who has written journalistic pieces for, among others, Odessy Classical Musical Publications in the U.K., published poetry and a novel--"And the Meter is Running", as well as theatrical and liturgical pieces. He is also the Founder and Director of a concert series and the Scandinavian Film Festival in Los Angeles.
